EMOTIONAL BROKENNESS

lord jesus, your healing power

extends to the depth

of my mysterious being

release me o, lord,

from the burden of my emotional hearts

help me to understand myself

help others to understand me

in my agony of fear or anger

confusion, withdrawal, loneliness

may i find the grace to trust you

through the ministry of family and friends

let me appreciate the beauty of my person

free me from this bondage

heavenly father, i adore and praise you

thank you for all your blessings

now i ask you again for another favor

for you alone are the giver of all good gifts

i beg you to grant me complete and total healing

of my spirit and soul, of my heart and will

of my emotions, memory and imagination

of my nerves, bones and body

my entire being from the tip of my head

to the soles of my feet

so i can be the person you planned for me

i pray that this healing will bring your honor

and sanctify me and others

lord, you know the misunderstanding

between me and certain people

harsh words and thoughtless actions

have been exchanged

i do not pray to you to change them

i know i must begin with myself

and correct my own shortcomings

remove from my memory

all acids of bitterness and vengeance

enable me now to let all pretensions go

grant me a quiet mind

objectively, and a sense of humor

give me the grace of open heart

the outstretched hand, the warm embrace

let me be the first to let go of the hurt

let it begin with me now

lord, true source of light and wisdom

let a ray of your brilliance

penetrate my understanding

grant me a retentive memory

and the ability to grasps things

correctly and completely

let me be convincing in my explanations

stead fast and unwavering

in my presentation

give me your confidence

to trust my god given capabilities

help me with each tasks at hand

guide me through its completion

lord, i need you to curb my temper

and bridle my tongue

help me to get along with people

who are difficult, thoughtless and selfish

keep me from speaking barbed words

from unkind silence that hurt even more

restrain my anger when things go wrong

believing that you want me

to bear this trial

make me sweet inside

that i may be warm with other people

gentle in the things i say

kind in what i do

FOR PATIENCE

lord, thank you for the stillness

when i can relax before you

and lay my impatience with other people

smooth the furrows from my brow

the lines from my face

the frustrations from my heart

the heavy loads from my mind

the searching irritations from my soul

i ask the graciousness of patience

the ability to relax when i must wait

may a quiet heart and mind attend to me

make straight my path

wrest every short temper

with a sense of humor

FOR COURAGE

life seems full of stresses lord

my busy home, my hurried work

sometimes i fear for myself

torn between one tension and another

i lose my nerve and fell the need to get away

enfold me lord

shield me from the frailty of my spirit

protect me from my own powerless will

free me from all anxieties and doubts

give me the vigor to push on

and continue with the mission

you have chosen me to task

help me remember lord

that you are there beside me

and if i fall at times

be there to carry me

lord, joys is a gift meant for sharing

to spread warmth and happiness around

bless me with a cheerful heart

that looks at the bright side of life

bless me with a cheerful disposition

with a ready smile on my lips

to bring ne life, hope and courage

to the heart of the weary

and the overburdened

a smile cost nothing but creates much

for it is something no good to anyone

till it is given away

should i meet someone to tired to smile

let me give him one of mine

for nobody needs a smile so much

as someone who has none left to give

AGAINST ENVY

lord, do not allow me

to be firmly attached to this earth

that i should fail in love and crave

for too many things

guard me from jealous eyes

an envious heart

save me from the tyranny of possesions

mature me in the choices i make

control my desire for earthly satisfactions

give me the courage to be content

keep me back from wanting

hold me back from taking

lead me to find balance

of moderation and zest for living

FORGIVE ME LORD

lord, forgive me for the things i have done

that makes me ashamed in your presence

all the front i polish so carefully

for men to see, do not decieve you

i acknowledge with sorrow and repentance

that i desire what i knew was not right for me

i have been preoccupied with self interest;

invited unclean thoughts into my mind

and entertained them as honored guests

my ears were often deaf to your whispers;

my eyes have often been blind

to the sign of your guidance

make me willing to change;

restore me, lord, as you forgive me

FOR MY FRIENDS

lord, thank you for friends

who warm my life with their smiles

who make life worthwhile

who carry me when my courage fails

and comfort me when i am sad

i pause to look back

at parties made more enjoyable

loneliness more bearable

because of their companionship

thanks for their companionship

thank you for their honesty

when i cannot be honest with myself

for letting me grow in my own time

for respecting my feelings

in a world where love seem lost

my friends love me

thank you lord for all of them

I FORGIVE EVERYONE

lord, today i choose to forgive evryone

because you have forgiven me

i forgive my parents, spouse, children

for any unlove and negativity

knowingly or unknowingly

bestowed on me

i forgive my brothers, and sisters, and relatives

whose past negative actions

continue to affect me today

i forgive friends and neighbors

for all wrong ever done to me

i forgive the one person in my life

the one most difficult to forgive

as i forgive everyone today

may they also forgive all my trespasses
